עם פרוץ המלחמה וגיוס מאות אלפי חיילי מילואים ולוחמים ששהו בשטח מעל לחודש ימים בלי יציאות הביתה. חשבנו איך להקל על הלוחמים בצרכים הבסיסיים. כביסה נקייה עם ריח של בית. גייסנו רומות מאוניברסיטת בן גוריון ומאזרחים ויותר מאוחר לקחה אותנו עמותת אלון ואלה תחת חסותה כדי להקים עגלה ועליה מכונות כביסה ומייבשים שתגיע עד לבסיסים ולמרכזי אירוח של חיילים כדי לעשות להם כביסה במקום בתוך שעה קלה.
התגובות והתתרגשות של החיילים כשהגענו לבסיסים היו מרגשות ומעודדות להמשיך ולהפעיל את המיזם. הרגשה של משמעות וסיוע באופן ישיר ללוחמים היקרים שלנו שעושים עבודת קודש.
