רס"ב יגאל זינגר חילץ והוביל אחריו כ-100 מכוניות מאיזור הקרב ברעים ועד לעיר נתיבות.
כאשר הגיע לעיר ונכנס לתחנת המשטרה, אסף כלי נשק ותחמושת וחזר לזירה לאחר ששמע בקשר את מצוקת הכוחות במקום.
הוא ניהל עם שוטר נוסף קרב נועז מול חוליית מחבלים שירתה על השניים טילי RPG עד שהצליחו לחסלה.
רס"ב זינגר פונה מהמקום על ידי כוח מג"ב לאחר שנפצע ברגלו. בזכות פעולתו בשטח, הציל רס"ב זינגר מאות אנשים!
